The presentation of the contemporary architecture of Azerbaijan includes the information of the latest achievements in architecture, urban planning and the newest building technologies used in the construction of the sign structures. The second oil boom that took place in Azerbaijan in the 90s of XX century, in connection with the country's gaining independence after the collapse of the USSR, and the subsequent rise in the economy, gave impetus to the development of architecture and attraction of famous foreign architects and architectural companies in Baku.

Among the most famous buildings are the Heydar Aliyev Center (architect Zaha Hadid), Flaming Towers (architect - Gian Luca Poggi for HOK International), Carpet Museum (architect Hoffmann - Janz Zt Gmbh, Austria), Crystal Hall (Architecture - Gmp · Architekten Von Gerkan, Marg Und Partner, Germany), etc. Among the urban planning concepts that are being put into practice in Baku, it is necessary to allocate an ambitious project White City, whose detailed master plan and architecture are developed by FOSTER AND PARTNERS and Atkins companies.

A significant contribution to the creation of the modern architecture of the city of Baku was made by companies that were engaged in the introduction of new structures and materials, new construction technologies, urban lighting, etc.
