Doctorate degree in e-Planning

Lisbon School of Architecture has the honour of announcing that, starting from the school year 2019-2020, it has adhered to the Doctoral Programme in e-Planning.

Thus, the FA-UL affirms its intentions, as a higher education institution, to place itself in the frontline, in the face of the technological revolution introduced by new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). It does so, not just in a method and tool-based perspective, but also aware of the deep and transversal impact of that revolution in Cities and Territories, and in the life of its Citizens.

Within the e-Planning ‘consortium’, four Universities (UA, UNL, UL, UTL) have registered in 2008 the new e-Planning Joint Doctoral Programme. In 2014, with the merging of UL and UTL into ULisboa, and with the ongoing reconfiguration of the ‘consortium’, a new edition of the Programme was certified. Applications for the Doctorate degree are open, and candidates can register in the organic units that are part of the Programme.

This new Doctoral Programme, of a transdisciplinary nature, emerges from the e-Planning agenda and is supported by several Research Units, assessed by the national evaluation system (FCT) as ‘Excellent’ and ‘Very Good’.

The initial presentation of the Joint Doctoral Program e-Planning took place on October 1st, 2009 at FCSH-UNL, in Lisbon, with the presence of Vice Rectors and Directors of Faculties and Institutes of the 4 Universities (UA, UNL, UL, UTL), and the intervention of the "Associated Head" of Dpt. Urban Studies and Planning at MIT.
