CiTUA Seminar “Turning CITIES into MEGA-EVENT Stages: from Theoretical Considerations to Practical Implementations in Portugal”, 29 de fevereiro, no Instituto Superior Técnico

No dia 29 de fevereiro de 2024 realizar-se-á o evento Turning CITIES into MEGA-EVENT Stages: from Theoretical Considerations to Practical Implementations in Portugal no Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa), promovido pelo CiTUA - Centro para a inovação em Território, Urbanismo e Arquitetura e dirigido a comunidades académicas e a redes profissionais.

Este seminário pretende realçar o papel das cidades na organização de mega-eventos, assim como o impacto dos mega-eventos nas dinâmicas das cidades.

Dividido em cinco sessões, o painel de convidados inclui especialistas académicos internacionais e representantes de organizações de alguns dos maiores eventos em Portugal, tais como da Federação Portuguesa de Futebol, do Comité Olímpico de Portugal, da Jornada Mundial da Juventude 2023, da PARQUE EXPO'98, de Évora 2027 Capital Europeia da Cultura e ainda dos Jogos Olímpicos de Inverno Milan-Cortina 2026.

Este evento de entrada livre vai realizar-se das 9h00 às 18h00 na sala EA4 da Torre Norte, no campus da Alameda.

On February 29th, 2024, the seminar Turning CITIES into MEGA-EVENT Stages: from Theoretical Considerations to Practical Implementations in Portugal will be held in Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa), promoted by CiTUA - Centre for innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture and targeted to scientific communities and to professional networks and practitioners.

The seminar aims to highlight the role of cities in hosting mega-events, as well as the impacts of mega-events in the dynamics of host cities.

Divided into five sessions, the invited panel includes international academic experts and representatives of organizations of some of the biggest events in Portugal, such as the Portuguese Football Federation, the Portuguese Olympic Committee, the World Youth Day 2023, EXPO'98, Évora 2027 European Capital of Culture and also the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

The event is entrance free and will run from 9am to 6pm in room EA4 of the North Tower, in campus Alameda.
