Incoming (from abroad to FA)

The Faculty of Architecture welcomes undergraduate and master’s students from higher education institutions with which it maintains cooperation agreements.

Subject to the availability of places and prior approval, the Faculty also accepts students under the free mover scheme, offering them the opportunity to attend courses across all academic programmes. In these cases, a tuition fee applies, calculated according to the number of ECTS credits selected.

Doctoral students may also be admitted for research periods, subject to prior approval, benefiting from an academic environment of excellence and a strong international outlook.

Nomination

The nomination process is typically carried out by the student's partner institution. For this purpose, the Lisbon School of Architecture will provide the official nomination form during the month preceding the nomination period.

The duly completed form must be sent to the email gmobilidades@fa.ulisboa.pt address:

- from 1 March to 31 March, for mobility periods starting in September of the following year, i.e. for the 1st semester and full-year programmes;

- from 15 April to 15 May, for mobility periods starting in February of the following year, i.e. for the 2nd semester.

Application

After nomination, students will be contacted directly via the email address provided by their home institution in order to start the online application process, which takes place on our academic platform, Fénix.

The platform is available:

- from 15 April to 15 May for mobility periods starting in September of the following year, i.e. for the 1st semester and full-year programmes;

- from 1 October to 15 October for mobility periods starting in February of the following year, i.e. for the 2nd semester.

To complete the application submission, students must have the following documents available:

1. > Official Transcript of Records;
2. > Photo passport size;
3. > Copy of Identity Card or Passport.
4. > Learning Agreement duly signed and stamped by home institution or OLA;.
5. > Portfólio (only for studies in Design and Fashion Design, BA & MA).

The University of Lisbon offers a Portuguese course through the ICLP, Institute of Culture and Portuguese Language at the beginning of each semester with a duration of 56 hours for students under the Erasmus+ program.

The course will be taught at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, 4 times a week, after working hours.

Students who succeed receive a Portuguese language certificate issued by the ICLP, Institute of Culture and Portuguese Language, with recognition of 6 ECTS. If they wish, students may include the Portuguese language course in the Learning Agreement, however, it will not appear in the Transcript of Records.

Not available for other exchange programs, since it's co-funded by the Erasmus program. The student's co-participation will be
