Change of Institution/Course Pair
Undergraduate and Integrated Master degrees
Applications are submitted exclusively through the online platform - Fenix.
Access to the Fenix system depends on your status:
- Candidates who are current or former students of FA.ULisboa and have a ULisboa account (@campus.ul.pt or @edu.ulisboa.pt) must log in to Fenix and start the application process through the "Candidate" menu. If you do not remember your password, you should recover access [HERE].
- Former FA.ULisboa students who do not have a ULisboa account must contact the Academic Area via email at candidaturas@fa.ulisboa.pt to obtain their login credentials.
- External candidates to FA.ULisboa must first create a Fenix user account [HERE]

Publication of results: by September 5, 20251
¹ Candidates who are not placed and who had a valid enrollment and registration at a higher education institution in the previous academic year may, within seven days from the date of publication of the decision, re-enroll in the program in which they were previously registered.
Available vacancies for admission into the 1st curricular year, for the 2025/26 academic year:
Bachelor in Design – 1 vacancy
Bachelor in Fashion Design – 1 vacancy
Integrated Master’s in Architecture – 6 vacancies
Placement through curricular integration into the 2nd and 3rd years of the program is not subject to the quota of places defined above.
General Admission Requirements
According to the Regulation on the Re-entry and Change of Institution/Course Pair Schemes in Higher Education – Portaria n.º 181-D/2015, de 19 de junho, in its current version – the following may apply for a Change of Institution/Course Pair:
- Students who have been enrolled and registered in another institution/course pair and have not completed it.
- Students who have been enrolled and registered in a foreign higher education institution in a study cycle recognized as higher education by the legislation of the respective country, and have not completed it.
It is not permitted to request:
- A Change of Institution/Course Pair from a professional higher technical course, or an equivalent foreign course, to a bachelor’s degree or integrated master’s degree program.
- A Change of Institution/Course Pair within the same academic year in which the student was placed in a higher education program through any admission process and has registered and enrolled
Students covered by the International Student Status must apply for the Change of Institution/Course Pair through the Special Access and Admission Contest for International Students.
Academic Qualification Requirements
Students who meet the general admission conditions may be accepted through the Change of Institution/Course Pair contest, as long as they meet one of the following conditions:
- They have taken the national secondary school leaving exams (national final exams) corresponding to the entrance exams required for that institution/course pair, for that academic year, under the General Access Regime, and have achieved the minimum grade required by the higher education institution in those exams.
- For students holding non-Portuguese qualifications legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education, the condition established in point 1 may be satisfied through the application of Article 20-A of Decreto-Lei n.º 296-A/98, de 25 de setembro, in its current version.
- For students who entered higher education through Special Admission Regime, the condition established in point 1 may be satisfied under the terms defined in Article 12 of the Regulation on the Re-entry and Change of Institution/Course Pair Schemes in Higher Education.
The national exam the national secondary school leaving exams (national final exams) referred to in the previous points may have been taken in any academic year.
Students coming from the National Higher Education System:
- Identification document and Tax Identification Number. These documents may be submitted in digital format or, alternatively, through the completion of a personal identification form, provided it is validated in person at the academic services upon presentation of a valid identification document;
- ENES Form (Ficha ENES), containing grades for access to higher education, referring to the year in which the student was admitted to higher education;
- In cases where admission was through special access schemes, the document mentioned in the previous point may be replaced by a declaration issued by the higher education institution attended, stating the access modality, as well as documentation proving the specific academic qualification for the course to which the student is applying, in accordance with the provisions of Article 12 of the Regulation on the Re-entry and Change of Institution/Course Pair Schemes in Higher Education, approved by Portaria n.º 181-D/2015, de 19 de junho, in its current version.
- Transcript of records of the completed curricular units in the institution/course pair where the student was enrolled, including the corresponding credits and grades obtained, or, in the case of not having passed any curricular units, a certificate of enrollment/registration from previous higher education institution
- Declaration issued by the previous higher education institution confirming that the student is not under academic suspension (due to exceeding the maximum number of failed enrollments) for the academic year in which they are applying.
Students coming from a Foreign Higher Education System:
- Identification document and Tax Identification Number. These documents may be submitted in digital format or, alternatively, through the completion of a personal identification form, provided it is validated in person at the academic services upon presentation of a valid identification document;
- Certificate of completion of secondary education legally equivalent to the Portuguese system, including a breakdown of completed subjects and, if applicable, the final grade;
- Certificate of passing national final exams or terminal secondary school subjects considered equivalent to the entrance exams required for the course to which the student is applying;
- Certificate of enrollment/registration at a foreign higher education institution, indicating that the program is officially recognized as higher education according to the legislation of the respective country;
- Transcript of completed subjects in the course and previous higher education institution, including corresponding credits and grades obtained, along with an explanation of the grading scale used in the country of origin.
Certificates issued in non-EU countries must be properly legalized, either by authentication at the Portuguese consular services in the country where they were issued or, alternatively, by the affixing of the Hague Apostille by the competent authority in that country.
All documents not issued in Portuguese, English, French, or Spanish must be translated into one of these languages (certified translation).
- The credit transfer request must be submitted by completing the appropriate form available in the FenixEdu system, including a list of previously approved curricular units for which the candidate wishes to request credit.
- The curricular units listed in the form must be accompanied by the following documentation:
- Certificate of approved curricular units/courses, with corresponding credits and obtained grades;
- Study plan of the original program;
- Course syllabi and contact hours of the completed and approved curricular units/courses.
- Students coming from programs offered by FA.ULisboa are exempt from submitting the mandatory documentation referred to in the previous point.
- Certificates issued in non-EU countries must be officially legalized either through authentication by Portuguese consular services in the country of issuance or by affixing the Hague Apostille by the competent authority of that country.
- Failure to submit all required documentation will result in the automatic dismissal of the request.
- Additional credit transfer requests based on prior training will not be accepted after the application is submitted.
- Credit transfer requests are subject to the payment of a fee, in accordance with the Fee Table of FA.ULisboa.
The ranking of candidates is carried out according to the formula described in the Regulations on Re-entry, Change of Institution/Course Pair, and Special Admission Contests of the Lisbon School of Architecture, Universidade de Lisboa, taking into account the following criteria:
- Secondary school grade average;
- Average grade of the entrance exams;
- Academic performance and success in higher education at the previous institution/course.
An admissibility condition is that the ranking score (Nota de Seriação - NS) must be equal to or greater than 130 points¹, expressed on a 0–200 scale.
¹ Score planned for the 2025/2026 academic year, currently pending approval. Information to be confirmed before the application period begins.
- Applications for Change of Institution/Course Pair are subject to a fee of:
- €60 — for current or former students of UTL or ULisboa.
- €140 — for other students.
- After the publication of the Final Results, admitted candidates who submitted a request for recognition of prior learning in their application will be required to pay the corresponding fee.
