Applications for people over 23 years of age
Undergraduate and Integrated Master degrees

1st PHASE – Application for the M23 Assessment Process must be submitted to the Rectorate of ULisboa. More information available on the Rectorate's website [HERE].

2nd PHASE – Formalization of the application at FA.ULisboa.

Applications are submitted exclusively through the online platform - Fenix.

Access to the Fenix system depends on your status:

• Candidates who are current or former students of FA.ULisboa and have a ULisboa account (@campus.ul.pt or @edu.ulisboa.pt) must log in to Fenix and start the application process through the "Candidate" menu. If you do not remember your password, you should recover access [HERE].
• Former FA.ULisboa students who do not have a ULisboa account must contact the Academic Area via email at candidaturas@fa.ulisboa.pt to obtain their login credentials.
• External candidates to FA.ULisboa must first create a Fenix user account [HERE]

1st Phase: Application for the M23 Assessment Process

Single phase: Applications take place in March 2025.
The M23 Assessment Process is managed by the Rectorate of the University of Lisbon.

2nd Phase: Application Formalization in Fenix for FA.ULisboa

Candidates approved in the M23 Assessment Process for the Faculty of Architecture must formalize their application between July 15 and July 25, 2025.

Approved available vacancies for admission in 2025/26:

Bachelor’s Degree in Design – 1 vacancy
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design – 1 vacancy
Integrated Master’s in Architecture – 16 vacancies

All individuals who have turned 23 years old by December 31 of the year prior to the application may apply for the special exams designed to assess the ability to attend higher education for candidates over 23 years old (hereinafter referred to as Access Exams), provided they meet all of the following conditions:

a) They do not hold the required qualifications for admission to the intended degree programme, meaning:

1. They are not holders of a secondary education qualification or equivalent; or

2. Although they do hold a secondary education qualification or equivalent, they have not passed the national exams that serve as entrance exams for the intended programme, within the timeframe set by the Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior for the National Access Competition.

b) They are not considered international students under Article 3 of Decreto-Lei n.º 36/2014, of March 10, in its current version.

For the purposes of the special admission process for applicants over 23 years old, candidates must submit the following documentation:

a) Identification Document and Tax Identification Number, which may be submitted either as scanned copies or, alternatively, by completing a personal identification form, provided it is validated in person at the academic services upon presentation of a valid identification document;

b) If the candidate was approved in the assessment process in a year prior to the application year, a document certifying approval, issued by the University of Lisbon;

c) In the case referred to in point b) of Article 21 of the Regulation on the Re-entry, Change of Institution/Course Pair, and Special Admission Competitions of the Lisbon School of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, a document certifying the validation of over-23 access processes completed at other higher education institutions, issued by the University of Lisbon.

Applications to FA.ULisboa through the M23 special admission process are subject to the payment of a fee of €40.

1st Phase: Result of the M23 Assessment Process
The final results of the M23 Assessment Process will be published on the website of the ULisboa Rectorate.

2nd Phase: Result of the Application to FA.ULisboa
Results will be announced by August 1, 2025.
