Bachelor's and Integrated Master's
Applications are submitted exclusively through the online platform - Fenix.
Access to the Fenix system depends on your status:
- Candidates who are current or former students of FA.ULisboa and have a ULisboa account (@campus.ul.pt or @edu.ulisboa.pt) must log in to Fenix and start the application process through the "Candidate" menu. If you do not remember your password, you should recover access [HERE].
- Former FA.ULisboa students who do not have a ULisboa account must contact the Academic Area via email at candidaturas@fa.ulisboa.pt to obtain their login credentials.
- External candidates to FA.ULisboa must first create a Fenix user account [HERE].

3rd Phase
If there are remaining vacancies after the second phase, they may be made available for a third phase of applications during a period to be defined.
1 The vacancy reservation requires the payment of a deposit of €500.00 (Despacho n.º 43/2022 of the President of FA). Failure to make the payment within the established deadlines will result in the loss of the vacancy, which will then be made available in the next application phase. When enrolling in the course, the amount paid as a deposit will be applied to the tuition fee and deducted from the first installment.

Applicants eligible to apply through the Special Admission Competition for International Students (CEAIEI) are those covered by the International Student Status (EI – Estatuto de Estudante Internacional), as established by Decreto-Lei n.º 36/2014, de 10 de março, in its current redaction.
To apply through CEAIEI, International Students are considered those who do not hold Portuguese nationality and do not fall under any of the following categories:
a) Nationals of a Member State of the European Union or nationals of a State Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area;
b) Family members¹ of a Portuguese national, a national of another Member State of the European Union, or a national of a State Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, regardless of their nationality;
c) Those who have legally resided in Portugal for more than two consecutive years as of January 1st of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, as well as their legally resident children. The period of residence with a study residence permit is only considered during the time the student is attending secondary education in Portugal.
d) Those who, as of January 1 of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, benefit from a status of equality in rights and duties granted under a treaty or international agreement between the Portuguese State and their country of nationality.
Candidates who do not fall under the International Student Status (EEI) are considered National Students and must apply through the National Competition or other Special Contests.

To apply for Bachelor’s and Integrated Master’s programs, as International Students, candidates must:
- Hold a Portuguese secondary school diploma or a legally equivalent qualification (Find out more about equivalence procedures HERE) OR hold a qualification that, in the country where it was obtained, grants them the right to apply for and enter higher education in that country;
- Have the academic qualifications in the required subject areas for the program, as defined in Article 4 of the Regulamento de ingresso e acesso para Estudantes Internacionais da Universidade de Lisboa;
-Have the required level of Portuguese language proficiency for their chosen program, as defined in Article 5 of the Regulamento de ingresso e acesso para Estudantes Internacionais da Universidade de Lisboa.
a) Voluntary submission of a copy of a valid foreign identification document or passport, or alternatively, a completed personal identification form (which must be validated in person at the academic services);
b) A signed declaration, under oath, confirming that the candidate does not hold Portuguese nationality and is not covered by any condition that would exclude them from the International Student Status (form available in the online application process);
c) Document proving completion of Portuguese secondary school or legally equivalent qualification, or if the qualification is not equivalent, a document proving that the qualification grants the right to apply for and enter higher education, in the country where it was obtained;
d) Document proving the final grade in Portuguese secondary education, or its equivalent, indicating the grading scale in which it is expressed;
e) Document proving academic qualification, in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 2 to 6 of Article 4 of the Regulamento de ingresso e acesso para Estudantes Internacionais da Universidade de Lisboa (document proving approval in national exams, equivalent exams, or documents that demonstrate that, in their schooling, the candidate obtained approval in final exams or curricular components that cover the knowledge included in the national exams).
f)) Proof of Portuguese language proficiency (B1 level), when applicable.1
g) Curriculum vitae (optional).
The documentation mention on c), d) and e), submitted as part of the application:
- Must be issued by the competent authority in the country where the qualifications were obtained;
- Whenever they are not issued in Portuguese, English, French, or Spanish, they must be translated into one of these languages;
- When issued by institutions from non-EU countries, they must be legalized by a Portuguese consular agent or by the Hague Apostille, with such legalizations being carried out in the country of origin of the documents.
1 International students who have not attended secondary education in Portuguese and who do not provide proof of holding a DEPLE or a B1 certificate issued by a ULisboa School commit to attending an annual Portuguese language and culture course, under the terms defined in Article 5 of the Regulamento de ingresso e acesso para Estudantes Internacionais da Universidade de Lisboa.
Candidates who wish to apply for the creditation of previous education, within the scope of their application, and in accordance with the legislation in force, must submit the following documentation:
a) Certificate of completed curricular units/courses, with the corresponding credits and obtained grades1;
b) Study plan of the program;
c) Course syllabi and workload of the completed and approved curricular units/courses.
Requests for credit recognition are subject to a fee according to the current Fee Table.
Candidates who meet the following conditions may apply directly for admission to the 2nd Cycle of the Integrated Master's in Architecture, by submitting the respective supporting documentation1 , at the time of application:
- Holders of a Bachelor's degree obtained after completing the first six semesters of the Integrated Master's in Architecture program;
- Holders of the Equivalence or Specific Recognition of a Bachelor's degree in the scientific field of Architecture, in accordance with the legal regulations in force.
The documentation mention on a):

The application of international students is subject to a fee of €140.
Tuition fees for the academic year 2025/26:
Annual tuition fee: €7000
Payment structure: Upon registration, the 1st installment is paid, corresponding to 30% of the total annual attendance fee (tuition fee) - €2100, plus administrative expenses and school insurance. The remaining ten installments will be paid throughout the school year.
- 1st instalment: €2100, upon registration;
- 2nd instalment: €490, until the end of October;
- 3rd instalment: €490, until the end of November;
- 4th instalment: €490, until the end of December;
- 5th instalment: €490, until the end of January;
- 6th instalment: €490, until the end of February;
- 7th instalment: €490, until the end of March;
- 8th instalment: €490, until the end of April;
- 9th instalment: €490, until the end of May;
- 10th instalment: €490, until the end of June;
- 11th instalment: €490, until the end of July.
Note: Upon enrollment/first registration in the course, the amount paid as a deposit for vacancy reservation will be deducted from the tuition fee, being applied to the first installment.
Additionally, an administrative fee of €40 and a school insurance fee of €2.10 will be charged upon registration.
